We call or text you back. Usually within one business hour during office hours. We answer your questions, including cost and insurance, and there is no pressure on that call.
You get matched and scheduled. The right counselor for what you need, at the office that is convenient for you, or online. Flexible appointment times are available.
Your first session. You talk, your counselor listens and asks good questions, and together you set a direction. Most people leave the first session with something to work with.

Questions people ask us
How do I know which counselor to see?
You do not have to know. Tell us what is going on when you call and we will match you. If the fit is wrong after a session or two, say so and we will move you. That is a normal part of this, not a failure.
How much does counseling cost?
With insurance, your plan's copay or coinsurance, and we verify it before your first session. Self-pay starts at $125 per session. Either way you will know the number up front.
Do you offer flexible appointment times?
We do our best to work around your schedule. Tell us what your week looks like when we call you back and we will find something that works.
Can we meet online?
Yes. Secure telehealth sessions are available anywhere in Texas, and many clients mix in-person and online depending on the week.
Is this faith-based counseling?
Only if you want it to be. Faith is woven in as much or as little as each client wants, so clients who want it in the room get it taken seriously. Clients who prefer a fully secular approach get exactly that.
Can we verify your licenses?
Please do. Every Texas counselor's license can be verified with the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council at bhec.texas.gov. Our counselors are listed under Pursuing Joy PLLC.
